Job summary

This is an exciting time to undertake this new role within the expanding Imaging Department. The department will be providing a 7-day service operating between the hours of 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. We are looking for a Band 6 Deputy Service Delivery Manager to join our growing A&C team within the General Imaging department at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

This is an on-site management role, and the successful candidate will lead a team of Imaging Schedulers and Reception staff, while being part of a wider multi-disciplinary team. We seek an enthusiastic individual with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the A&C team, which will work a shift system covering the 12-hour working/scanning day.

They will support the Service Delivery Manager and General Manager with implementing policy changes, business planning, objectives, and service development to meet capacity/demand fluctuations. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with waiting time requirements and National RTT/DM01 targets.

The successful candidate must be a flexible team player who can manage a varied workload to meet targets, adapt to changing deadlines, and prioritize conflicting demands. They must work within a confidential environment and adhere to Information Governance procedures.

Main duties include:

1. Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel; full training on RISe/PACs will be provided.
2. Managing and coordinating Imaging administration services within SBH General Imaging.
3. Playing a key role in coordinating the patient pathway to ensure a smooth service.
4. Line managing A&C staff, handling HR and personnel issues as they arise.
5. Supporting the Service Delivery Manager and General Manager in policy implementation, business planning, and service development.
6. Assisting in meeting performance targets related to quality, waiting times, and activity.
7. Contributing to the strategic direction of SBH General Imaging Services.
