Job summary

The Stanway School, Colchester, is seeking a dedicated Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. You will support the Designated Safeguarding Lead in maintaining a safe environment for students, staff and volunteers, handle safeguarding caseloads, and act as a key contact for staff reporting concerns.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a school setting (primary or secondary).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use initiative to resolve routine problems independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead to ensure a safe environment for students, staff and volunteers.
• Manage a caseload of safeguarding cases identified through disclosures or history.
• Be the main point of contact for staff reporting safeguarding concerns and ensure policies are followed without delay.
• Help promote a safe, respectful and inclusive school environment where pupils feel confident raising concerns.
