Job summary

The Victory Academy is expanding its pastoral and safeguarding team and invites applications for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) role, encompassing Deputy Attendance Improvement Coordinator. The successful candidate will assist the DSL in safeguarding duties, triaging cases, and supporting students subject to protection plans while promoting attendance and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Experience with children, young people, and families / carers.
• Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
• Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and multi-agency working.
• Organised, calm under pressure, and able to manage sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.
• Confident in making referrals, guiding staff, and supporting students through challenging situations.
• Collaborative team player with a genuine commitment to student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead in safeguarding duties.
• Support in reducing absence levels and improving attendance.
• Triage safeguarding concerns and respond to incidents.
• Take timely, appropriate action to meet statutory duties.
