Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Rothley, Leicestershire. You will lead shifts, supervise staff, and ensure safeguarding and high standards of care for young people with complex needs.

You will collaborate with families and professionals to deliver tailored support, contribute to audits and regulatory compliance, and help run daily activities within the home.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or willingness to complete.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with 1 year supervisory/shift-leading.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our children’s residential service in Rothley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with complex needs, within a supportive and forward-thinking team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Deputy Manager based in Rothley, Leicestershire, your daily duties will include:
• Building trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence, wellbeing, and resilience among children and young people.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic support tailored to individual needs.
• Leading shifts and supervising staff to ensure high standards of care and safeguarding.
• Supporting the Registered Manager with audits, operational duties, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contributing to the daily running of the home, including activities such as cooking, cleaning, and record-keeping.
• Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all service users.
• Promoting an inclusive, welcoming environment that encourages social and emotional development.

Requirements & Qualifications

• To be successful as a Deputy Manager, you will need:
• A Level 3 qualification relevant to Residential Childcare.
• A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services, or a willingness to work towards it.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting, with at least 1 year of supervisory and shift-leading experience.
• Strong knowledge of OFSTED Regulations and Quality Standards, with the ability to support the home in achieving an “Outstanding” rating.
• Experience in safeguarding, recording, and reporting to protect children and young people.
