Job summary

ACR Recruitment & Training Limited invites applications for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join a friendly preschool in Birmingham. You will support the Nursery Manager, help lead the team and ensure high standards of care and education in the EYFS.

This permanent, all-year role offers 37.5 hours per week, a salary of £13.90 per hour, and ongoing training in a welcoming home-from-home environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification obtained at least two years ago.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, ideally with preschool-aged children.
• Leadership or supervisory experience or readiness to step into management.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and child development.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day running of the setting.
• Help lead, motivate and support the nursery team, promoting a positive working environment.
• Support planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS.
• Encourage children’s learning, development and school readiness within the preschool room.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and overall care.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing updates on children’s progress and wellbeing.
• Support staff development, share good practice and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Help ensure nursery policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.

Salary: £13.90 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent, all year round

Shift pattern: Between 7:30am and 6:00pm

Qualification: Level 3 Early Years qualification, held for at least two years

About the Role

ACR Recruitment & Training is looking for a passionate and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a lovely nursery in Birmingham.

Set within a warm, welcoming, home-from-home environment, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional to support the day-to-day running of the nursery, with a particular focus on the preschool age group.

Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the team, maintain high standards of care and education, and create a safe, stimulating environment where children feel happy, confident and ready to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the setting.

What We’re Looking For

• A recognised Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification, obtained at least two years ago.
• Experience working within an Early Years setting, ideally with preschool-aged children.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience, or the confidence and motivation to take the next step into management.
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and children’s development.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A caring, proactive approach and a genuine passion for providing high-quality childcare.
• The ability to support colleagues and help create a welcoming, nurturing environment.
