Job summary

ACR Recruitment & Training Limited is assisting a well-established nursery in the Oxford area to recruit a Deputy Nursery Manager. The role leads a team of 15, supports high-quality practice, and contributes to staff development and service improvement.

You will work with the Nursery Manager to ensure outstanding EYFS provision, safeguarding, and Ofsted readiness while stepping into the manager's role when needed. A strong leadership background in early years is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years/Childcare (UK recognised).
• Experience in a senior practitioner, room leader, or deputy manager role.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• A passion for delivering outstanding care and education.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Lead and motivate staff to maintain high standards of care and learning.
• Coach, mentor, and support practitioners to enhance practice and professional development.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality EYFS provision throughout the setting.
• Monitor children's development and support effective curriculum planning.
• Promote safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance with nursery policies.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
• Assist with staff supervision, recruitment, and onboarding.
• Support inspections and ensure continued compliance with Ofsted requirements.
• Step into the Nursery Manager's role when required.

Salary: Up to £36,500 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
