Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
• Experience as Deputy Manager, Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker, or similar leadership role within a children's residential setting.
• Experience supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
• Good understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
• Experience supporting and developing staff teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of young people.
• Flexibility to work long day shifts, sleep-ins, weekends and public holidays.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the overall operation of the home.
• Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to the staff team.
• Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding and compliance.
• Support recruitment, induction, supervision and development of staff.
• Contribute to care planning, risk management and quality assurance processes.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Build positive relationships with young people, families, professionals and external agencies.
• Promote a therapeutic, nurturing and child-centred culture throughout the home.
• Step into the Registered Manager’s responsibilities during periods of absence.
