Job summary

OUTWARD is seeking a proactive Deputy Manager to join our NE London services on a 12-month maternity cover. You will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, oversee service delivery, coordinate staff rotas and provide supervision to the team.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
• Experience coordinating staff teams with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong safeguarding and risk management knowledge.
• Knowledge of health and safety in supported housing or care settings.
• Ability to develop and review person-centred support plans and risk assessments.
• Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and data protection.
• Clear verbal and written communication with families, colleagues and professionals.
• Strong organisational skills for rotas and handovers.
• Commitment to Outward’s values of engage, enable and empower; flexible across services.
• Staff must have smartphone access for secure systems.
• Right to Work in the UK; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, person-centred support promoting independence, choice and dignity.
• Coordinate day-to-day service delivery including staff rotas and handovers.
• Carry out key working responsibilities with people we support and families.
• Lead on service quality checks and improve actions with Team Manager.
• Support Team Manager with day-to-day management and induction.
• Provide line management and regular supervision to support staff.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality in records and reporting.
• Work across multiple services including evenings and weekends.
