Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager to join our family‑run children’s residential home in Earls Barton. You will lead a small team to deliver high-quality care, build trusting relationships with young people, and support individualised care plans.

The role requires NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4, 2+ years’ experience, safeguarding knowledge, and strong leadership. You’ll oversee daily routines, contribute to multi‑agency meetings, and maintain a safe, welcoming

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or in progress.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care.
• Experience with ASC, mental health, emotional or behavioural needs.
• Understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean enhanced DBS or willingness to complete checks.

Shifts: 8am-11pm - 1 day on, 2 days off

• Promoting safeguarding, dignity, and emotional wellbeing, while managing challenging behaviour with therapeutic approaches.
• Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and multi‑agency meetings to ensure the best outcomes for young people.
• Maintaining accurate records, reports, and documentation to support ongoing care and compliance.
• Supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the home, including household tasks and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or be working towards this qualification.
• At least 2 years’ experience within a children’s residential care setting.
• Experience supporting young people with ASC, mental health, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations.
• A full UK driving licence.
• A clean enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete the required checks.
