Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker/Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Melton Mowbray. You will provide hands-on care and leadership within a supportive team, ensuring high standards of welfare and safety.

You’ll lead a small team, oversee daily routines, contribute to care planning, and promote safeguarding while supporting young people with ASC and mental health needs. DBS check required.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare, or working towards it.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting.
• Experience supporting young people with ASC, mental health, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and childcare legislation.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Clean enhanced DBS check or willingness to complete checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality care.
