Career Makers Inc. in Cheadle is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day‑to‑day running of a residential children’s home.

You will lead a dedicated team, uphold safeguarding and Ofsted standards, and promote a therapeutic environment that helps children and young people overcome challenges. This full‑time role involves 40 hours per week, with evenings and weekends on call, and a salary of £38,662–£41,330 per year plus a discretionary monthly management

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Willingness to achieve Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a Senior or Deputy role within residential childcare.
• Experience managing shifts, rotas and staff supervision.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted standards and regulatory compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Salary: £38,662–£41,330 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications, plus discretionary monthly management bonus

Contract: Full-time, permanent

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager and deputise in their absence.


• Lead, supervise and develop staff teams.


• Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements and relevant legislation.


• Promote safeguarding and children’s welfare.


• Oversee staff rotas, care records and regulatory documentation.

• Support inspections, audits and continuous service improvement.
