Job summary

Avery Healthcare in Lichfield is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Deputy Manager (RGN) to support the General Manager at Darwin Court Care Home. You will help lead a caring team and ensure a safe, person-centred environment for residents.

You will uphold professional standards, manage staff, oversee medication policies, and contribute to audits and clinical meetings. A current NMC PIN and a nursing qualification are required, with at least two years in a similar managerial care role.

• Current NMC PIN and a nursing qualification.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar care environment in a management position.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; competent in IT systems.
• Adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspirational leadership to the staff team.
• Ensure medication policies are followed and review medication administration.
• Monitor wellbeing and care plans for residents.
• Complete monthly audits, quality indicator reports and other required reports.
• Attend weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas.

About The Role

Your focus as Care Home Deputy Manager will be to support the General Manager to operate a compliant and effective person-centred care home which provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for residents and their visitors, whilst meeting stringent professional and statutory standards and commercial performance targets.

Other Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Ensuring that medication policies and procedures are adhered to and support with the reviewing of medication and administration.
• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans.
• Completing monthly audits, quality indicator report and any other report as required.
• Attending weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas in the home.
