Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is hiring a Deputy Manager for Elstree View Care Home in Borehamwood. The role focuses on supporting the General Manager to run a compliant, person-centred care home with a safe, caring environment for residents and visitors.

You will lead the staff team, uphold medication policies, monitor resident wellbeing, and contribute to audits and reports while ensuring standards and commercial targets are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in a similar care environment in a management position.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication; proficient with IT systems.
• Flexible and adaptable to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Ensure adherence to medication policies and support reviewing medication administration.
• Monitor wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
• Complete monthly audits, quality indicator reports and other required reporting.
• Attend weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas in the home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Home Deputy Manager will be to support the General Manager to operate a compliant and effective person-centred care home which provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for residents and their visitors, whilst meeting stringent professional and statutory standards and commercial performance targets.

Other responsibilities will include:

• Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Ensuring that medication policies and procedures are adhered to and support with the reviewing of medication and administration.
• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans.
• Completing monthly audits, quality indicator report and any other report as required.
• Attending weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas in the home.
