Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Deputy Manager - RGN to join Darwin Court Care Home in Lichfield. You will support the General Manager to run a compliant, person-centred care home that provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for residents and visitors.

The role requires a current NMC PIN and nursing qualification, with at least two years in a similar management position, plus strong leadership and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Current NMC PIN and a nursing qualification.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar care environment, in a management position.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and be competent in use of IT systems.
• Adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Support medication policies and review of medication administration.
• Monitor the wellbeing of residents and update care plans as needed.
• Complete monthly audits, quality indicator reports and other required reports.
• Attend weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas in the home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as Care Home Deputy Manager will be to support the General Manager to operate a compliant and effective person-centred care home which provides a safe, caring and stimulating environment for residents and their visitors, whilst meeting stringent professional and statutory standards and commercial performance targets.

• Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
• Ensuring that medication policies and procedures are adhered to and support with the reviewing of medication and administration.
• Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans.
• Completing monthly audits, quality indicator report and any other report as required.
• Attending weekly clinical meetings and monitor clinical risk areas in the home.
