Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager for a children’s residential home in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You will lead daily care operations, model trauma-informed responses, and support a team to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for 8–17-year-olds.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent, plus residential childcare leadership experience and a mandatory enhanced DBS check. A UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in residential childcare, ideally in a leadership or shift-coordinator role.
• Strong safeguarding, behaviour support and trauma-informed care knowledge.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• An enhanced DBS check is mandatory.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join a leading healthcare provider in Bradford, West Yorkshire. This pivotal role involves leading daily practice within a children’s residential home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for young people aged 8-17 years. The successful candidate will play a vital part in translating the home’s values and therapeutic model into meaningful, everyday experiences for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Manager based in Bradford, your daily duties will include:

• Leading shift operations to ensure high standards of care and safety for children and young people.
• Modelling calm, consistent, and trauma-informed responses during challenging situations.
• Supporting staff through coaching, supervision, and real-time feedback to promote best practice.
• Building trusting, respectful relationships with children, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
• Maintaining safeguarding vigilance and responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
• Embedding the home’s therapeutic ethos into daily routines, activities, and interactions.
• Contributing to quality assurance processes, including audits, incident reviews, and practice development.
• Supporting the Registered Manager in maintaining inspection readiness and continuous improvement.
