Portman Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager for a 4-bed EBD Children's Residential Home in Kettering. You will support the Registered Manager, lead staff, and ensure high standards of care for children and young people.

The role offers a clear progression towards Registered Manager positions, with opportunities to develop your Level 5 qualification and access to sleep-in payments as part of the package.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a residential children's home.
• NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People / Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and Children's Homes Regulations.
• Experience leading or supporting a staff team.
• Experience with rotas and budgets.
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Responsabilités

• Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home.
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to Residential Support Workers.
• Lead shifts and ensure children and young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
• Promote a therapeutic and child-centred approach to supporting young people.
• Support staff supervision, development and performance.
• Ensure safeguarding procedures and Children's Homes Regulations are followed.
• Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
• Support the management of staff rotas and budgets.
• Maintain high standards of recording, reporting and compliance.
• Help create a positive culture where young people feel safe, listened to and supported.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
