Job summary

Portman Recruitment is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager for a four-bed children's residential home in Gedney, Spalding. You will support the Registered Manager, lead shifts, supervise staff, manage rotas, and uphold safeguarding standards in line with Ofsted and Children's Homes Regulations.

The role offers progression towards a Registered Manager position, a salary of £33,360–£35,577 plus sleep-in payments, and a commitment to a therapeutic, child-centred approach with ongoing professional

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience working within a children's residential home.
• Current or previous experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager.
• Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce or Residential Childcare.
• Good knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding procedures and the Children's Homes Regulations.
• Experience managing staff rotas and contributing to budgets.
• Confidence leading shifts and supporting staff development.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
• Lead shifts and provide guidance to the residential staff team.
• Manage staff rotas and help maintain safe staffing levels.
• Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and performance discussions.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child-centred care.
• Ensure the home operates in accordance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations.
• Support care planning, risk assessments and behaviour-support strategies.
• Assist with budgets, petty cash and other administrative responsibilities.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, families and other professionals.
• Promote a therapeutic, nurturing and consistent environment.
• Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
• Contribute to the continued development and improvement of the service.

Education

Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or Residential Childcare
