Job summary

First for Support LTD is recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to join an Ofsted-regulated children’s residential home in Southampton. This role leads the care team and supports the Registered Manager to ensure safe, nurturing, child-centred care for looked-after children.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, support staff training, ensure safeguarding and Ofsted compliance, and provide leadership during on-call periods. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a care team in a residential setting.
• Experience supporting safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to develop staff and manage day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with daily running of the home.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the care team.
• Promote safeguarding and Ofsted compliance.
• Support care plans, risk assessments and outcomes.
• Create a safe, therapeutic and nurturing environment.
• Support inductions, training and development.
• Liaise with professionals and advocate for children.
• Act on behalf of the home in the manager's absence.
• Participate in on-call rota when required.

First for Support are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to join an Ofsted-regulated children's residential home in Southampton.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional looking to take the next step in their career and make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with emotional, behavioural and social difficulties.

Deputy Manager will be working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day running of the home, support and develop the staff team, and ensure children receive safe, nurturing and child-centred care.

Responsibilities
