About The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager in overseeing the care and support provided to individuals within our Outreach and Independent Living service. You will ensure that care and support is person-centred, safe, and of the highest quality, while also managing a team of dedicated support workers to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we support.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Assist in the overall management of the outreach and independent living service, ensuring that care and support are delivered in accordance with the people we support’s needs, preferences, and care and support plans.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the support team, ensuring they are trained, motivated, and compliant with policies and procedures.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of support workers.
- Develop and maintain person-centred care plans and ensure regular reviews of the people we support’s progress.
- Support the management team with the financial and resource management of the service.
- Participate in the on-call rota and assist with emergency situations when required.
- Monitor the quality of care and support through regular audits, spot checks, and supervision, ensuring that high standards are maintained.
- Liaise with external agencies, such as social workers, healthcare professionals, and family members, to ensure seamless support for the individuals we support

Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards Level 5
- At least 2 years’ experience in the Health & Social Care sector
- Evidence in following and maintaining workplace privacy
- Experience supervising, supporting or coordinating colleagues
- Experience in sector compliance
- A good understanding of outreach services, person-centred care, and relevant legislation (e.g., CQC, Care Act, Safeguarding)
- Competent in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
- A high level of English-language fluency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues
- Written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence and reports
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to care, with a commitment to empowering individuals.
- Team player/commitment to group goals
- Able to use own initiative
- Ability to manage a varied workload and respond to challenges with flexibility and resilience.
- Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to own vehicle (for visiting other sites)
- Must have Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available for this role)
Desirable Requirements
- Level 5+ in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in supporting people with Learning difficulties, Autism and physical disabilities
- Experience in a leadership role in the care sector
- Knowledge of managing workforce rotas, shifts and staff ratios
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- Actively engaged in own personal development with the ability to reflect on development needs and the initiative to work on this
