Job summary

Thwaites in Heysham, United Kingdom seeks a Deputy Manager to support the General Manager, lead a busy inn team, and uphold high hospitality standards.

You will deputise in the GM's absence, manage rosters and payroll budgets, and take charge of operations on shift while developing staff and ensuring guest satisfaction in a food-led environment.

Qualifications

• Proactive and a good communicator to ensure smooth running of the business.
• Comfortable rolling up sleeves and getting involved with service.
• Experience in a busy, food-led operation with supervisory/management duties.
• Flexible with hours as the business is open all day, every day.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the GM to deliver hospitality and deputise in their absence.
• Oversee rota control and scheduling.
• Manage payroll budgets in line with targets.
• Take responsibility for all business operations on shift.
• Manage and develop the skills of the team.
• Be the point of contact for management issues.
• Hands-on with food service, room reservations and guest care when needed.

We’re searching for a Deputy Manager with a passion for people and head for business to be the second in command of our busy Inn.

Your day to day;

• Working alongside the GM to deliver fantastic hospitality and deputising in their absence
• Overseeing the control of rotas
• Managing payroll budgets in line with agreed targets
• Taking responsibility for all of the business operations when you are on shift
• Managing and developing the skills of your team
• Being the point of call for any management issues
• When needed, being hands on with food service, room reservations and looking after guests

Who are we looking for?

You will need to be proactive and a good communicator andensure the smooth running of the business.

Deputy Manager is a key part of our leadership team but you will also need to be comfortable with rolling up your sleeves and getting involved with service.

We need someone with previous experience of working within a busy, food-led operation – exposure to supervisory or management dutiesis essential.

Our business is open all day every day so you will need to be flexible with the times you can work.
