Job summary

The Bell, part of Brunning and Price Pubs Ltd, seeks a Deputy Manager to lead a busy pub team and help run events with a guest‑focused approach.

You’ll draw on hospitality experience to manage service, train staff, and shape offering of beers, gins and wines, while supporting the Pub Manager in daily operations and customer relations.

Qualifications

• Experience as deputy manager or restaurant manager in gastro pub, restaurant, bar or hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead busy services and run events.
• Strong customer service and team leadership skills.
• Ability to train and develop staff for shift cover and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the bar/waiting team to deliver smooth service.
• Plan and run events, ensuring guest satisfaction and efficiency.
• Welcome customers and manage service flow during peak periods.
• Assist Pub Manager with training and staff development.
• Decide beverage selections and contribute to promotions and events.

About You...

As Deputy Manager you'll be working alongside the Pub Manager helping to lead the team and run our busy pub. You'll be managing busy services, planning and running special events, welcoming and looking after customers as well as helping to train and lead our lovely bar/waiting team. You'll be drawing on your knowledge and experience to decide what beers, gins and wines we offer and how our events should be run. This is a hands on role where you’ll be at the heart of everything going on ensuring that things run smoothly. We are immensely proud that many of our pub managers have been promoted from within. We want to carry on that success story, so you will be given plenty of training to develop your skills and progress your career.
