Job summary

Elysium Healthcare Limited is hiring a Deputy Lead Social Worker at Thornford Park, Thatcham, to lead safeguarding efforts and support recovery plans for service users in a multidisciplinary setting.

You will manage a caseload, supervise staff, and collaborate with external agencies to ensure welfare and statutory duties are met. The role offers career development and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A Social Work qualification.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
• Have at least 4 years’ experience of working in a similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the social work team to take the lead on child and adult safeguarding.
• Deputise for Lead social worker in quality assurance meetings.
• Deliver safeguarding induction and update training across the hospital.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions.
• Deliver quality supervision and appraisal to junior and senior social workers in the Team.
• Liaise with external agencies to fulfil statutory duties (MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, CMHT, FIND, FOLS, Police and Probation).
• Support carers and families of detained patients.
