Gilpin Hotel & Lake House, a 5‑Star luxury retreat in the Lake District, is recruiting a Deputy Housekeeping Manager to lead our team in delivering immaculate spaces, calm environments, and exceptional guest experiences.

You will work hands-on to uphold Gilpin’s standards, coordinate daily housekeeping operations, coach staff, and collaborate with Front Office, Estates, Spa and F&B to ensure seamless service across the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong housekeeping experience within a high-end or luxury environment.
• Impeccable attention to detail and pride in presentation.
• Confidence working both solo and within a close-knit team.
• High physical fitness and willingness to undertake daily hands-on cleaning tasks.
• Flexibility, initiative, and a calm, professional presence.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• A warm, guest-focused approach and confidence interacting with guests.
• A willingness to embrace a varied role across cleaning, leadership, guest support, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the housekeeping team to deliver 5‑star standards across the estate.
• Maintain immaculate spaces, coordinate daily rhythms of housekeeping operations.
• Coach the team in cleaning techniques, product use, and luxury finishing touches.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Estates, Spa and F&B to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
• Respond to guest requests with grace and professionalism.
