Another Place, The Lake in Ullswater is seeking a Deputy Head Housekeeper to support the Head Housekeeper, lead a team and uphold our high standards across bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.

You will plan daily staffing, work with Maintenance and our external laundry, and contribute to recruitment, induction and training while prioritising safety and COSHH compliance in a stunning Lake District setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or senior housekeeping role in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Experience leading and motivating a housekeeping team.
• Experience working with an external laundry provider is desirable.
• Good understanding of hotel housekeeping standards, room inspections and deep cleaning.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
• Strong communication skills and a supportive leadership style.
• Ability to delegate, prioritise and manage competing demands in a busy hotel.
• Confidence to work independently, use initiative and remain calm under pressure.
• Basic IT skills and the ability to complete the administration required for the role.
• Flexible, hardworking and responsible approach.
• Genuine customer service focus and understanding of housekeeping impact on guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Support and deputise for our Head Housekeeper in the day-to-day running of the Housekeeping department, taking responsibility in their absence.
• Lead and support the Housekeeping team, ensuring training and support are available.
• Maintain consistently high standards across bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces in line with brand standards.
• Carry out room checks and support deep cleaning and bedroom readiness for guests.
• Plan daily staffing and workloads to reflect business needs, while supporting the team as required.
• Work closely with Maintenance and our external laundry provider to ensure rooms, linen, equipment and supplies are well maintained.
• Support Head Housekeeper with recruitment, induction, training and development within the team.
• Ensure the department follows Health & Safety, COSHH and fire procedures with appropriate checks.
• Encourage responsible use of resources, waste reduction and engagement with B Corp initiatives.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and exceptional guest experience.
