Job summary

Orchid Healthcare is seeking a Deputy Manager for a reputable nursing home in Ipswich, offering up to £50,000 per annum. The role requires 40 hours per week and experience in deputy management to oversee high-quality nursing and residential care for frail elderly residents, including those with dementia.

You will support the Manager, supervise nurses and carers, and help uphold the home’s reputation for excellence.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills required.
• Must hold valid NMC PIN.
• Previous experience in a Deputy Manager role is essential.
• Ideally hold NVQ4 or equivalent.
• Passion for elderly/dementia care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager in planning and delivering high-quality nursing care.
• Lead and motivate a team of nurses and carers to maintain excellent standards.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day running of the home and liaise with healthcare professionals.
• Support inductions and orient new staff to the home.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Up to £50,000 annum
• Must have previous experience in a Deputy Manager role

• Medium sized home
• Nursing and residential care to the elderly
• Immediate interviews

The successful Deputy Manager candidate will be required to assist the Manager in planning and implementing the highest quality of nursing care to the homes frail elderly residents, some of who may suffer with dementia. You will be responsible for managing and motivating a team of nurses and carers and helping to ensure the smooth running of this reputable nursing home. Good communication skills and a passion for providing outstanding care are therefore essential.

• Work autonomously and independently whilst building strong relationships with the management and care staff throughout the organisation
• Maintain and assess the home’s high quality care
• Organising and motivating the carers to ensure excellent standards of care are delivered
• Assist in inductions and orientations of new care staff
• Help to uphold the home’s reputation as a recognised centre of excellence
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals and members of the multi-disciplinary team
