Job summary

The Cambian Group Plc is recruiting a Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential home in England. This role combines hands-on care with leadership responsibilities to ensure the home operates safely and to high standards.

You will work closely with the Registered Manager, supervise staff, and uphold safeguarding, regulatory requirements and quality outcomes for children with complex needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People is essential.
• NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management is desirable.
• Previous senior experience in a children's residential setting.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation and Ofsted requirements.
• Confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in leading, motivating, and developing staff.
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and records are maintained to a high standard.
• Take responsibility for the home in the Manager’s absence.
• Support safeguarding practices and ensure Ofsted compliance.
• Assist with staff supervision, training, and performance management.
• Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs.

The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our Children’s Residential Home. This is a key leadership role, combining hands‑on care with management responsibilities to ensure the home operates safely, compliantly, and to the highest possible standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in leading, motivating, and developing the staff team
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children and young people
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and records are maintained to a high standard
• Take responsibility for the home in the Manager’s absence
• Support safeguarding practices and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations
• Assist with staff supervision, training, and performance management
• Contribute to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with complex needs

About You
