Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 39 weeks a year, PPA time allocated (A part time candidate would be considered)

Northcroft School are looking for a dynamic leader to join Northcroft School as our Deputy Head Teacher Academic with a proven track record of school improvement. The successful candidate will be joining a team of professional, enthusiastic and committed colleagues who work hard to support all children to achieve both personally and academically. We offer a strong ethos of high expectation and inclusion; children are well supported and thrive in this learning environment. Together with the Headteacher and the Deputy Pastoral, the candidate will work to ensure the smooth and effective running of the school.

As a new school the role might include leading the school or phases of the development. You will be expected to promote outstanding teaching, demonstrate passion for school improvement, and use your talents to make a real difference to the lives of our children. You will bring a track record of success and a level of focus, precision and rigour which will have a substantial and sustained impact on the school into the future. Improvement will be based on an unswerving focus on curriculum and its implementation and a strong commitment.

Northcroft School are looking for someone who can demonstrate building teams, developing staff, and planning a curriculum that meets the needs of the cohort and one that demonstrates progress across a range of parameters from attendance, engagement and academic learning to EHCP progress and social, emotional, communication and mental health needs.

Northcroft School is a specialist School for learners who have multiple needs such as social, emotional and mental health needs, past trauma, ASD and ADHD. We are proud of the high expectations and aspirations we set for every child and young person, providing an inspiring environment where everyone can learn and achieve. Amegreen Education works with students on personalised programs and where possible transitions students back into mainstream within key points, aligned with EHCP key stages.

Essential requirements:

• Good honours degree in subject and QTS
• Evidence of continious professional development
• 10 years of teaching experience
• Able to teach KS3 and KS4 effectively in a subject area, a sound knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments
• Prior experience of leadership within the educational sector
• Ability to adapt teaching for different needs
• Positive and engaging teaching style, able to lead, motivate, inspire and support students to achieve excellence
