Job summary

ISP Battle School seeks an inspirational Deputy Headteacher to lead safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum development for Key Stages 3 and 4. The role requires QTS with SEND experience and proven leadership within an inclusive, therapeutic learning environment.

You will work across staff, pupils and families to raise attainment, monitor progress and ensure high-quality teaching in a SEND-focused setting at Battle, East Sussex. Term-time considerations apply with full-time commitment.

Qualifications

• QTS with SEND experience.
• Experience delivering a high-quality SEND-focused curriculum.
• Proven leadership of teams in a therapeutic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff, pupils and families.
• Senior or middle leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion safeguarding culture and lead safeguarding practice in line with statutory requirements.
• Provide strategic leadership for behaviour and attendance using data-driven approaches.
• Ensure high-quality teaching and learning with focus on inclusion for SEND students.
• Assess, monitor, record and report learning needs, progress and achievements.
• Prepare pupils for external examinations and manage curriculum development.
• Collaborate with staff to share best practice and align with school ethos.
