Job summary

Polaris Education - ISP Battle School is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to lead safeguarding, behaviour and attendance, and to drive high-quality teaching across KS3/KS4 for children with SEMH and SEND. You will oversee therapeutic approaches and collaborate with staff, families and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for pupils.

The role requires QTS with SEND experience and a proven track record in senior or middle leadership within a supportive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

• QTS with SEND experience.
• Experience delivering a high-quality curriculum with SEND focus.
• Experience leading and managing teams in a compassionate, therapeutic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff, pupils and families.
• Proactive and adaptable attitude, able to establish systems aligned with the school's values and ethos.
• Previous senior or middle leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Champion safeguarding culture and lead safeguarding practice.
• Provide strategic leadership for behaviour and attendance using data-driven approaches.
• Ensure high-quality teaching with inclusion and differentiated instruction for SEND.
• Assess, monitor, report on pupils' learning needs and progress.
• Prepare pupils for external examinations where appropriate.
• Contribute to school-wide strategy, policies and curriculum development.
• Collaborate with staff and external professionals to secure positive pupil outcomes.
• Foster a culture of cooperation, flexibility and continuous improvement.
