Job summary

Polaris Education - ISP Battle School in Battle, East Sussex seeks a Deputy Headteacher to lead safeguarding, behaviour and curriculum development for pupils with SEMH and SEND. This full-time post is term-time only with a competitive salary up to £46,790 per annum.

The successful candidate will work with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure high-quality teaching, inclusive practice and positive pupil outcomes across Key Stages 3 and 4, supported by an experienced leadership team

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status with SEND experience.
• Lead and manage teams in a compassionate, therapeutic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with staff, pupils and families.
• Senior or middle leadership experience in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Champion safeguarding culture and oversee safeguarding responsibilities.
• Provide strategic leadership for behaviour and attendance using data.
• Ensure high-quality teaching with inclusion for SEND.
• Assess and report on pupils' learning needs and progress.
• Prepare pupils for external examinations.
• Contribute to school policies, curriculum development, and ethos.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and external professionals.
• Manage and develop staff teams, promoting cooperation.
