Outcomes First Group is seeking a Deputy Headteacher for Baston House School in Bromley, Kent. The role focuses on our Primary provision for pupils aged 5–19 with complex needs, guiding teaching, behaviour and outcomes while working with a cross-disciplinary team.

You will lead strategic and operational work, line-manage staff, and ensure safeguarding and high standards of learning. Permanent, term-time considerations apply with January 2027 start.

Qualifications

• QTS required and essential to lead teaching staff.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND and complex needs.
• Strong leadership experience in a school or specialist setting.
• Ability to use pupil progress data to inform improvement.
• Proven coaching and development of colleagues.
• Excellent communication and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Headteacher in delivering the school’s vision and priorities.
• Provide leadership across Primary provision and pupil progress.
• Lead on behaviour and attitudes with consistent approaches.
• Monitor progress and set targets for improvement.
• Collaborate with education, therapy, clinical and pastoral colleagues.
• Support admissions and transitions for pupils.
• Line manage staff and drive professional development.
• Promote safeguarding and contribute to school improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SEND legislation and school policies.
• Develop positive relationships with families and external professionals.
