Job summary

Minehead First School invites applications for a Deputy Headteacher to lead teaching and learning across a two-form entry primary setting in Minehead. The post leads strategic assessment, pupil progress and school improvement in a friendly, inclusive community.

The successful candidate will support staff development, drive high expectations and safeguard practices, while working with the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership and SLT to shape the school's future.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and experience in senior leadership responsibilities.
• Proven track record of raising standards in a primary school.
• Ability to analyse performance information and use it to improve outcomes.
• Experience in coaching and developing staff.
• Deep commitment to inclusion and safeguarding of pupils.

Responsibilities

• Lead and champion high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
• Provide strategic leadership for assessment, pupil progress and achievement.
• Play a leading role in school improvement planning, self-evaluation and quality assurance.
• Support, develop and inspire staff through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
• Monitor teaching, learning, attainment and progress to secure excellent outcomes for all pupils.
• Contribute to the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.
• Promote a culture of ambition, inclusion and high expectations.
