At ISP School, nestled in the beautiful Glengorse Estate in Battle, East Sussex, we specialize in providing education for 7-18-year-olds with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), communication and interaction needs, and cognition and learning needs. We are on the lookout for an inspirational qualified teacher with a passion for working with vulnerable children. As our Deputy Headteacher, you will: Champion a strong safeguarding culture, ensuring that all staff understand their responsibilities. Provide strategic leadership for behaviour and attendance, using data to monitor trends and promote positive behaviour. Ensure
high-quality teaching and learning, focusing on inclusion and differentiated instruction for SEND students. Assess, monitor, and report on the learning needs and achievements of pupils. Participate in preparing pupils for external examinations. Contribute to the development and evaluation of school policies and practices. Collaborate with staff, parents, and external professionals to secure the best outcomes for pupils. Manage and support staff teams, fostering a culture of cooperation and continuous improvement. Work closely with other leaders within the Polaris Community to share best practices.
To thrive in this role, you should have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND. A proven track record of delivering a high-quality curriculum for young people with SEND. Experience in leading and managing teams in a compassionate, therapeutic environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. A proactive and adaptable attitude, with the
ability to develop systems aligned with our values. Previous senior or middle leadership experience.
