About the Role

This permanent, full-time Deputy Headteacher post in Birmingham offers a salary of £58,400 to £65,000. The successful candidate will join a specialist SEND school's senior leadership group, working alongside the Headteacher to drive improvement. Key duties include shaping strategic direction, upholding safeguarding standards, and promoting inclusion so every pupil feels safe and supported. Are you an experienced senior leader with a strong background in SEND, safeguarding and inclusion?

This is an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Headteacher to join a specialist school that has an excellent reputation in the local community for its high quality of teaching and care.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement and ensure every student is safe, supported, included and able to achieve positive outcomes.

The Role

As Deputy Headteacher you will be providing strategic leadership across. Experience leading on safeguarding, inclusion, or SEND is desirable.

The role requires a QTS teacher with relevant leadership experience as an Assistant Headteacher, Deputy headteacher, or senior leader.

You will play a key strategic role in

• Leading whole-school teaching, safeguarding, and inclusion
• Raising standards and improving pupil outcomes
• Coaching, mentoring and developing staff at all levels
• Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and attendance across the school
• Building positive relationships with families, external agencies and community partners
• Contributing to the school's long-term strategic vision and growth

The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A successful track record of leadership and school improvement
• Strong knowledge of SEND, inclusion and adaptive teaching strategies
• The ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
• Strategic thinking combined with strong operational leadership
• Experience within specialist education, SEND, or SEMH settings would be advantageous.
