Job summary

Bidford on Avon Primary School is seeking a Deputy Headteacher to join the leadership team from January 2027. The role focuses on strategic and operational leadership, driving high-quality teaching and safeguarding across the school.

The successful candidate will lead and develop staff, use pupil progress data to raise outcomes, and work with the Headteacher and broader community to shape the school’s future while upholding the school’s Christian ethos.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has recent experience of teaching the National Curriculum.
• Outstanding classroom practitioner with high aspirations for every child.

• Experience of leading and developing staff and contributing to school improvement.

Working closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic and operational leadership of the school and will play a key role in ensuring that our children receive the very best education and opportunities.

The Deputy Headteacher will have a significant role in:

• Taking a lead role in safeguarding and promoting a strong culture of safeguarding across the school.
• Supporting the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
• Assuming responsibility for the management of the school in the Headteacher's absence.
• Working positively with children, staff, parents, governors, the church and wider community.
• Promoting and developing the distinctive Christian character and ethos of our school.

Key Requirements

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who:

• Is reflective, resilient, compassionate and committed to continuous improvement.
