Job summary

Christ the King Catholic Academy, part of the Coast and Vale Learning Trust, is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team and drive teaching quality, inclusion and school improvement.

We value strong Catholic education, safeguarding, collaboration across the Trust, and a commitment to developing staff while ensuring every child flourishes. Appointment is Trust employed, with Leadership Scale L10–L14 and permanent, full-time terms.

As we enter an exciting new chapter at CTK, we are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher who will play a pivotal role in shaping this next phase of our school's development.

We are looking for an inspirational and committed leader who is passionate about Catholic education, dedicated to securing the very best opportunities for every child, and eager to make a significant contribution to both the strategic and day‑time leadership of the school.

Working alongside leaders and governors, this role offers a rare opportunity to help shape the future direction of Christ the King while building on the strong foundations already in place.

The successful candidate will be Trust employed and will support the Headteacher and wider leadership team in leading teaching and learning, inclusion, behaviour and whole school improvement.

This role would suit an experienced Deputy Headteacher or an ambitious leader ready for the next step.

  • Two references including a judgement about suitability to work with children.

  • For teaching positions, barred list checks and prohibition from teaching checks will be carried out.
  • For leadership positions, section 128 checks will be performed.
