Job summary

Tilewood School, part of Outcomes First Group, is hiring an ambitious Deputy Headteacher to lead from day one. You will shape culture, curriculum and vision for a new specialist setting in Buckinghamshire, supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs.

Work alongside the Headteacher to establish a culture where every child thrives, families feel supported, and staff grow professionally. You will drive high-quality teaching, champion inclusive practice, and ensure safeguarding excellence while

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Leadership experience within a specialist or mainstream school, ideally supporting pupils with Autism, SEND or complex needs.
  • A passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, behaviour support, safeguarding and school improvement.

  • Support the Headteacher in establishing the vision, culture and long-term success of Tilewood School.
  • Lead high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development to ensure outstanding educational outcomes.
  • Champion inclusive practice, positive behaviour and exceptional safeguarding standards.
  • Drive personalised learning that enables every pupil to achieve their EHCP outcomes and reach their potential.
  • Coach, mentor and develop colleagues, creating a culture of continuous professional growth.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, therapists, local authorities and external professionals.
  • Help shape school improvement priorities, policies and systems as the school grows.
  • Ensure the school consistently meets all statutory, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.

Job description

Position:

Deputy Headteacher

Location: Tilewood School, Buckinghamshire, MK18 5AN

Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

(depending on experience, not pro rata)

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term time only

What You'll Be Doing

What you will bring

  • Key stage 1 and key stage 2 experience is required
  • An NPQH or other relevant leadership qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Tilewood School is a brand-new specialist school, part of Options Autism, opening in April 2027. The school will provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for up to 72 pupils.

Designed for young people aged 5 - 16, Tile House School will offer personalised support to help every learner thrive. This exciting new provision is committed to building confidence, resilience, and positive futures.

For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
