Job summary

Witherslack Group Ltd is seeking a Deputy Head Teacher to lead and develop a school for children and young people with ASD/SEMH needs. Working with the Head Teacher, you will set the vision, build a capable staff team and ensure high standards of teaching and behaviour.

You’ll be supported by a strong management network, enjoy generous benefits and holidays, and play a key role in delivering positive outcomes for learners across challenging circumstances.

Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience with Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership and management experience.
  • Drive to raise the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of good behaviours for learning and interpersonal skills to develop a strong staff team.
  • Support DSL through a DDSL capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Set the vision for the future of the school alongside the Head Teacher.
  • Lead and coach the school leadership team and teaching staff.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and behaviour across the school.
  • Collaborate with safeguarding and pastoral teams to support pupils.

Location

The Eaves is a tranquil setting in the rural community of Westbury. It brings together education, care and therapeutic support for our young people, providing the perfect backdrop to realise their full potential.

We primarily support young people with ADHD, ASD, SLCN and SEMH, and have recently been rated Good by Ofsted.

Responsibility & Requirements
  • You’ll need previous teaching experience and have Qualified Teacher Status
  • You’ll also need a minimum of 2 years leadership and management experience
  • Your drive to raise the quality of teaching and learning

  • Your effective leadership and coaching skills
  • Your knowledge of how best to use your interpersonal skills to develop a strong staff team
