Job summary

Hartwell School in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking a Deputy Head Teacher to join its independent specialist day school serving pupils with SEMH and autism needs. You will support the Head Teacher to set the vision, recruit the right staff and secure high standards of teaching and learning.

You’ll need prior teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status, plus at least two years in leadership. The role offers excellent salary and benefits and a supportive environment for professional growth.

• Must hold Qualified Teacher Status.
• Prior leadership and management experience in education is required.
• Ability to raise teaching quality and lead staff development.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage and develop a team.

• Develop plans to improve teaching, behaviour and outcomes.
