The Environment Agency is seeking a Deputy Director for Environmental Markets & Regulation to lead teams in regulating market-based schemes for a circular and Net-Zero economy. We are seeking an experienced leader to support the Environment Agency's efforts in delivering a circular and Net-Zero economy by regulating market-based schemes. This permanent role involves providing strategic leadership for our specialist operational teams, working with government, industry, and regulators to implement emerging and existing regulatory regimes.
The successful candidate will:
Key requirements include proven operational leadership, experience managing complex programs, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. A professional qualification in any discipline is preferred.
This role reports to Malcolm Lythgo, Director of Operations, and involves responding to incidents, with full training provided. Virtual interviews are scheduled for late July 2025.
