Job Overview

CNWL recognises that good education and training resources supporting staff and service development are crucial to delivering the best care to service users. We have a team of Clinical Educators working across the Trust, supporting education in practice at all levels, from the Care Certificate to Advanced Clinical Practice programmes.

We are seeking a motivated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Deputy Clinical Educator in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidate will be eager to work with individual learners and ensure that teams and services have access to necessary education to deliver evidence-based practice that meets or exceeds national standards. You will provide clinical education expertise to assist Team Leads and Ward Managers in optimising education resources, attracting, recruiting, and retaining staff, and developing learners to provide optimal care.

You will be part of a team promoting a learning culture across the Trust and will be the designated person responsible for all aspects of non-medical clinical education within a specific geographic or service area.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. Support students and learners on placement within the Trust.
  2. Support practice supervisors and assessors with students on placement.
  3. Develop strong working relationships with team leads, managers, Clinical Educators, and the student placement hub to optimise clinical placements.
  4. Evaluate students' placement experiences and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  5. Collaborate with the Trust Preceptorship Lead and Clinical Educators to deliver the preceptorship framework.
  6. Maintain excellent relationships with partner universities and placement staff.
  7. Ensure clinical staff complete the Care Certificate and understand their competencies.
  8. Support clinical apprentices in practice.
  9. Assist individuals and teams in planning their professional development to benefit service users and support service developments.
  10. Signpost staff to career development pathways to attract and retain staff.
  11. Undertake other duties of a similar level as assigned.
