Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager - Basingstoke

Hours: 42.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per annum

Salary: £35,235 - £38,626 (actual salary)

Start Date: ASAP

Type: Permanent

Job Overview

Academics is recruiting on behalf of an Alternative Provision in Basingstoke for an exciting opportunity as a Deputy Behaviour Lead Manager. You will play an active role in developing student behaviour and enhancing staff's behaviour management through planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions.

Your responsibilities include communicating behavioural information related to interventions for students with personal and psycho-social issues, which may involve highly emotional or antagonistic behaviours. The focus is on achieving the best outcomes for individuals using various approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide care, support, guidance, discipline, and encouragement to students.
  2. Implement bespoke interventions for at-risk students.
  3. Ensure accurate electronic data recording (e.g., CPOMS, CBucks).
  4. Organise and lead post-incident reviews.
  5. Record all sanctions and incidents on CPOMS, including detentions, physical/serious incidents, and exclusions, along with necessary protocols and communications.
  6. Produce reports and provide feedback to the governing body.
  7. Oversee performance management of behaviour team staff.
  8. Manage day-to-day behaviour proactively in response to school and student needs.
  9. Address staffing challenges, including mentoring, support, and coverage.
  10. Attain GSA Tutor Status and deliver training for new staff.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of behavioural interventions, procedures, and practices, including positive and negative reinforcement. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures is essential. The candidate should maintain a calm, positive, and caring attitude towards pupils.
