This permanent role involves assisting the Headteacher and managing school affairs, including curriculum development and staff management. Depute Head Teacher, Castlebay Secondary School (1685)
35 hours per week, Permanent Post
£63,879 per annum (Point 3 of the DHT/HT Scale) plus £2,742 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
The role of the Depute Head Teacher is to assist and, where necessary, deputise for the Headteacher in the conduct of the school's affairs. The Depute must work closely with the Headteacher in all aspects of school life, be capable of making decisions in their absence, and will take a lead role in assigned tasks related to the development priorities of the school.
The GTCS Standard for Headship applies to these duties.

Applicants should have experience at Principal Teacher level or above in a school setting.
An essential requirement is a University Degree and Certification from a Teacher Education Institution or College Diploma for Teaching, along with GTC Scotland Registration.
This position is subject to membership of the PVG Scheme for regulated work with children.
The position is full-time, permanent, with a salary according to current regulations plus £2,859 distant islands allowance.
