A leading educational institution in Scotland seeks a Depute Head Teacher to provide effective leadership and support to staff and students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in curriculum development and leadership, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. This role involves significant responsibilities, including deputising for the Head Teacher and ensuring quality assurance in educational practices.

You will be GTCS Registered (Secondary) with proven and successful experience in leading developments (curricular and staff development), quality assurance, and experience in a leadership role. You will assist in the effective leadership of the school and deputise in the absence of the Head Teacher when necessary. The specific duties of the Depute Head Teacher are detailed in the attached Job Description.
You will have extensive knowledge of curriculum development in Scotland and demonstrate an up-to-date understanding of Curriculum for Excellence. You should have experience across a range of classes and be involved in current educational developments. Evidence of relevant Professional Learning, strong management, leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential. A positive, caring approach and a commitment to young people are also required. This position is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal employment offer is made by Dundee City Council.
