Job summary

Nationwide Platforms is seeking a Workshop Repair Engineer at our Bedford depot to repair fleet assets to company and legislative standards. The role includes supporting the Workshop Service Manager, performing routine and complex repairs, and maintaining KPIs for machines under repair.

The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering maintenance and an IPAF licence, with experience in diesel, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Experience completing complex engineering repairs.
• Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• IPAF Operator Licence.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Understand the importance of excellent customer service.
• Ability to use basic functions of the operating system (L-Vis) to complete tasks.
• Use all PPE as prescribed in a safe and proper manner.

Responsibilities

• Support the Workshop Service Manager in the effective running of the Depot workshop, ensuring machines under repair KPIs are maintained at manageable levels.
• Undertake routine and complex repairs to machines at depot to ensure conformance with manufactures specification and company policy.
• Work with the depot team to keep the quantity and time machines are under repair low, in line with depot KPIs.
• Act as an ambassador for the company, providing high standard of customer care and directing queries to depot staff as required.
• Accurately complete all relevant paperwork using the Company’s engineering system/application.
• Update the system on machine status changes (PDI/PHI carried out, etc.).
• Be an ambassador for and ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards and policies.
