Job summary

Nationwide Platforms are the UK's leading specialist provider of Powered Access rental equipment, with depots nationwide. The Workshop Technician supports the Workshop Service Manager in running the Depot workshop and ensuring machines under repair meet manufacturer specifications and company policy.

You'll undertake routine and complex repairs, keep repair KPIs in check, and act as the ambassador for the company by delivering excellent customer care while updating the engineering system with

Qualifications

• IPAF Operator Licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in maintenance.
• Experience in completing complex engineering repairs.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
• Excellent customer service mindset.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Able to use L-Vis to complete tasks.
• Able to complete basic company administration processes.
• Use PPE correctly.

Responsibilities

• Support the Workshop Service Manager to run the Depot workshop and manage repair KPIs.
• Undertake routine and complex repairs to machines at depot.
• Minimise time machines are under repair in line with KPIs.
• Act as company ambassador, provide high-quality customer care.
• Accurately complete paperwork using engineering system.
• Update system on machine status changes (PDI/PHI, under repair, inspections).
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards and policies.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Support the Workshop Service Manager in the effective running of the Depot workshop, ensuring that machines under repair KPIs are maintained at manageable levels.
• Undertake routine and complex repairs to machines at depot to ensure conformance with manufactures specification and company policy.
• Working with the depot team ensure the quantity and amount of time machines are under repair is kept a low as possible, in line with depot KPIs.
• Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite at all times. Relay appropriate customer queries to depot staff as required.
• Accurately complete all relevant paperwork, using Company's engineering system/application.
• Update system on machine status change i.e. PDI/PHI carried out, Machine under repair, 6 monthly statutory Inspection completed, etc.
• Be an ambassador for and ensure compliance of Quality, Health & Safety standards, and policies.

Qualifications

• IPAF Operator Licence.
• Relevant general engineering maintenance qualification, preferably to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience of completing complex engineering repairs.
• Have a mature outlook and the ability to prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.
• Understand the importance of excellent customer service.
• Experience in diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics fault finding.
• Ability to use basic functions of the operating system (L-Vis) to complete tasks relevant to role.
• Ability to complete basic company administration processes in line with role.
• Use all equipment, tools and PPE as prescribed in a safe and proper manner.
