Job summary

PPG is seeking a Depot Operative with Driving to join our busy depot in Maidstone. The role involves processing orders by phone or trade counter, assisting in paint colour matching, picking/stock replenishment, and coordinating deliveries. You will support daily vehicle logistics and may occasionally drive to customer sites.

Full training and career development are provided. Working hours are 40 per week on shifts between 7:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential, max 3 points).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to use IT equipment and complete training programmes.
• Organised approach to work and route planning.
• Structured task execution and meeting customer ETA’s.
• Passion for delivering high quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high accuracy when picking customer orders.
• Work between roles as required to meet depot needs.
• Maintain efficiency and utilisation per picking performance criteria.
• Follow health and safety regulations and participate in training.
• Communicate effectively to colleagues and uphold PPG values.
• Pick items for daily deliveries and coordinate deliveries timely.
• Maintain customer relationships and provide excellent service.
• Report issues to branch management promptly.
• Handle customer payments as advised and secure cash per procedures.
