Job summary

First Bus, at the Sheffield Olive Grove depot, is seeking a Staff Manager to lead and deputise for the Assistant General Manager in delivering operational performance, governance and excellent customer experience. The role is full-time and permanent, with a focus on safety, policy compliance and continuous improvement.

You will engage frontline colleagues, drive improvements in punctuality and service delivery, and collaborate with engineering and service performance teams to optimise operations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing depot operations.
• Strong knowledge of road traffic and employment law.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop teams.
• Excellent planning and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the depot operations team in line with FirstGroup policies and legislation.
• Collaborate with Training to ensure teams are competently trained and staffed.
• Oversee driver performance and conduct performance conversations.
• Support induction and development of a high-performing operations team.
• Conduct disciplinary, grievance or absence reviews per company policy.
• Maintain accurate records for operational standards and performance.
