Job summary

Biffa Waste Services is seeking a Depot Manager in Atherstone to take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations at the transfer station and packaging transport. You will lead a team of 10, drive safety, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement while delivering customer service and financial performance.

The role requires experience in hazardous waste operations, a chemistry or engineering background, and IOSH Managing Safely.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an operational team in a hazardous waste environment.
• Degree in Chemistry, related science or Engineering with IOSH Managing Safely.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous waste legislation and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 10-person team with a strong safety culture.
• Oversee health, safety and environmental performance and compliance.
• Drive operational excellence with right people, plant and processes.
• Manage customer requirements, capacity, bookings and OTIF targets.
• Own depot financials: costs, budgets and profitability opportunities.
• Monitor KPIs and drive improvements to achieve targets.
• Collaborate with regional/national teams to optimise costs and services.
• Support new projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
