Job summary

Kevin Edward Associates is working with a leading powered access hire business in Wakefield to recruit an experienced Depot Manager. You will lead the depot, drive commercial performance and deliver outstanding customer service.

You will manage a team across sales, operations and service, own the P&L, and identify opportunities to grow revenue while maintaining safety and efficiency. This is a challenging autonomous role with potential for progression within a respected equipment rental group.

Depot Manager - Powered Access Hire

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £65,000 Basic + Performance Bonus + Company Car

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

I'm currently working in partnership with a leading and well-established powered access hire business that's looking to recruit an experienced and commercially driven Depot Manager to lead its Wakefield operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Depot Manager who enjoys taking ownership of a business, developing a team and driving commercial performance.

We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a good understanding of the equipment rental industry and the energy and enthusiasm to take an already established operation forward.

The Role

As Depot Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running and overall performance of the depot, ensuring the business delivers excellent customer service whilst achieving its commercial and operational objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Full responsibility for depot performance, profitability and P&L management.
• Leading, motivating and developing the depot team across sales, operations and service.
• Driving revenue growth through new business opportunities and existing customer relationships.
• Ensuring the depot operates efficiently, safely and to the highest standards.
• Working closely with the regional and senior leadership teams to deliver business objectives.
• Identifying opportunities to improve productivity, customer service and profitability.
• Creating a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.

About You

Ideally, you'll already be working in a Depot Manager, Branch Manager or similar leadership position within the powered access or wider equipment rental industry.

You’ll need to be commercially astute, comfortable managing a P&L and capable of balancing operational excellence with a genuine focus on growing the business.

Experience within powered access would be particularly attractive, although applications from strong managers within plant hire, tool hire or specialist equipment rental will also be considered.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone with drive, personality and the ability to lead from the front.
